Team Penning
Three riders, three calves, the clock ticking: the discipline Jacopo Ranch was born and grew up with.
In Team Penning three riders cut three calves with the same number out of the herd and take them into a pen, against the clock. Giacomo Caruso discovered it in 2000, when it was almost unknown in Italy, and he has never stopped since.
At the ranch we train on the calf herd, in two floodlit arenas, one of them covered: we work at night too. From Youth to Open classes, from regional to world championships, the team competes with riders who grew up here.
In 2015, in Montpellier, the Italian national team with the ranch’s riders won the Team Penning world championship.
